Matt Ross, LCSW-A

I bring a unique perspective to therapy—one shaped by both professional training and personal experience. My journey as a former walk-on college athlete taught me invaluable lessons about grit, perseverance, and the power of showing up even when the odds seem stacked against you. Those years of pushing through challenges, embracing discomfort, and working relentlessly toward my goals have deeply informed my clinical work. I truly understand what it means to face self-doubt, navigate setbacks, and ultimately discover inner resilience to reach important goals.

I specialize in working with teenagers and adults who feel stuck in their lives. Maybe they are struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship difficulties or life transitions. Whether you are looking to figure out who you truly are, are unsure of how to manage overwhelming emotions, or feel lost in improving your relationships, I’m here to help. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, even when it feels unlikely. My goal is to understand the patterns that no longer serve you, and work together to develop healthier ways of being and relating.

My therapeutic approach draws from several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing. This integrative style allows the therapy to be tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll explore unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns that keep you stuck, while building practical, user-friendly skills to manage daily stress. Good therapy is about understanding yourself in a more compassionate light, while you learn coping skills to meet the challenges you face.

I’m committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where you can be authentic and share. I know that reaching out for help takes courage, and I take that seriously. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative—I’ll challenge you when needed, but always with compassion and respect for your journey.

If you’re ready to invest in yourself, I’d welcome the opportunity to support you. Change takes consistent effort and a willingness to sit with discomfort—lessons the field taught me well. Together, we’ll develop both the practical skills and the resilient mindset you need to build the life you’re striving for and deserve.
